UAV Helicopter is actually just a cheap toy

UAV Helicopter is actually just a cheap toy

I am wanting this blog to be focused on good/affordable products...but unfortunately, in my product review, I believe I owe it to you guys to help you steer clear of this affordable toy helicopter posing as a military style alternative to the The Black Hornet (which it is nothing like, unfortunately).

Here is the AliExpress product below

Hey there, Tony Dubois fans! Get ready to embark on a quirky, unpredictable adventure with our latest product – a toy helicopter that may look like a professional military-grade piece of equipment, but is actually a delightfully unstable and affordable plaything!

While our toy helicopter doesn't offer the most stable flight or the ability to hover in one spot, it's this very unpredictability that makes it so much fun. With every wobble and sway, you'll feel like you're piloting an exciting, high-stakes mission, even if you're just having a blast in your living room or backyard!

The camera and video quality may be a bit fuzzy, but that won't stop you from capturing some entertaining and memorable moments. And to make the experience even more enjoyable, the helicopter comes with a decent app that lets you take control and explore the skies like never before.

There is one small hiccup, though: the holder for your smartphone on the remote control has a tendency to flop back, causing your phone to pop out. But hey, that's just another opportunity for some laughter and excitement, right? And while the holder may not accommodate an iPhone 12 in an Otterbox case, we see it as a reminder to always be prepared for the unexpected, Tony Dubois style! It does hold the phone without a case though ;-)

It did provide live feed pretty well, and somehow even though it crashed on me...my phone and the app somehow captured at least a few of the frames from the 50 second video it was taking when it drifted away uncontrollably into the trees. But hey! Isn't that fun! haha

Embrace the whimsical and unconventional nature of this toy helicopter, and remember that the best adventures are often those that don't go as planned. After all, Tony Dubois is all about finding joy and creativity in the unexpected. So why not challenge yourself to master the art of piloting this quirky toy helicopter and experience a whole new level of excitement?

In the end, it's not about having the most sophisticated or high-tech gadgets, but rather the fun and laughter that comes with exploring new challenges and embracing the imperfections. So, gear up for a wild ride with Tony Dubois' "Military-Style" Toy Helicopter Adventure and let your imagination soar!

Stay tuned for more unconventional and entertaining product recommendations from Tony Dubois that'll keep you smiling, laughing, and living life to the fullest!

After that warning, i've still included the link in case you want to let it drift uncontrollably into the trees like I did

How can you crash this UAV?

I paid $27.60 with shipping to the Midwest here in the US, and it took only 10 days to get to me. So depending on current availability you can see what kind of deal you can get. I would honesty either go with the $20 one for fun and get two so they can battle each other. Or get the model with a second bottom facing camera. I know that's more expensive though, so it's up to you.

It is pretty durable, I'll give it that. It even has a battle mode and a demo mode apparently, but I didn't have time to check that out.

The screws they give you to attach the stand are TINY! So if you have difficulty with tiny screwdrivers and screws, this build is not for you. Also, the 5th screw they included for the back of the remote to hold the battery cover in place...is the wrong size. No worries though, it isn't really needed because there is a clip holding the cover in place. Just don't drop the controller! (otherwise the batteries would pop out)

I'm sure this will be the same thing you will see in the mall selling for $35 all across America this summer. But hey, technology is advancing and getting cheaper day by day. But no, it isn't always "good".

Here are some examples of what it looked like, and the quality of the images/video it captured. The app really does look like it shows on the box and promotional pictures. It looks slick. Unfortunately, it drifted away before I had an opportunity to really fully use it.

Box got here in 10 days, but was slightly crumped. But not damagedCool military looking box, but nothing military about itShows damage to corner, but it was fineproduct seller infoThe app actually does look like thisOverview of what was included in boxPicture it took with its single cameraThis below is a full size image of what the camera took. So pretty bad quality. The app worked though, and the live feed workedpicture it took up about 40 feet in the air before it drifted away
